Dubai has got 3 airports .. sorry 4 airports now ! Latest one was inaugurated in June, 2010 and is called Al Maktoum International (DWC). It has started its operation with Cargo flights.

Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) :

Dubai had planned to make this airport the world's largest as Dubai aspires to build itself into 'Global logistic hub'. Al Maktoum International (DWC) airport is still under phase - I that includes one runway capable of handling Airbus 380 (super jumbos), one Cargo Terminal capable of handling 250,000 tonnes of cargo annually, 64 remote aircraft stands and a passenger terminal building capable of handling 5 million passengers annually.

Project once completed, Al Maktoum International (DWC) will be 5 times bigger than what it is today. I will have 5 runways with 4 terminal building, capable of handling 160 million passengers a year !!

This is an amazing USD $ 10.9 billion project, likely to be completed in next 10-15 years.
